The University of the Cumberlands is seeking to hire a Director to oversee the post-licensure RN to BSN program as well as the Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (FNP) programs. Both of these programs are 100% online and have a tradition of success. The candidate will oversee the curriculum for both programs in terms of course planning, content, and assessment. The candidate will also manage the faculty teaching in both programs. The candidate will work collaboratively with and report to the Chair of the Department of Nursing/ Chief Nursing Officer.
Job Responsibilities: The Nursing Coordinator will have responsibilities in the following areas:
  • Assist the Department Chair in assuring compliance with all Kentucky Board of Nursing requirements and CCNE accreditation standards.

  • Collaborate with the Department Chair to promote growth of the nursing programs while maintaining rigor and consistency
  • Collaborate with Department Chair on curricular evaluation, assessment reports, and maintenance of the budget
  • Foster a vibrant faculty culture that promotes innovation and excellence
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the administration of the institution, other divisions or departments within the institution, related facilities, and the community.
  • Facilitate the development of long-range goals and objectives for the nursing program.
  • Maintain current knowledge of requirements pertaining to the nursing program and licensure.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Nursing or the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Job Requirements:
The candidate should:
  • Hold at minimum a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Hold a current and unencumbered APRN license with a focus in Family Practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience within the immediate past ten years
  • A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience
  • Demonstrate a history of employee excellence.

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
