Position Summary
Bridgestone is currently hiring for a HR Manager in our Williamsburg location. This role will require a strong strategic, collaborative and analytical HR leader who is capable of bringing creative, innovative thinking to the table, offering new ideas and solutions to complex business challenges. The HR Manager will be someone who has a track record of leading as a change agent, assessing current situations and anticipating challenges and providing solutions that add value and promote a culture of change and HR leadership. The HR Manager will be part of the Plant Leadership team and viewed as a true business partner by the team. The HR Manager will provide guidance and be viewed as critical in helping champion HR initiatives and programs that successfully drive the business.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance and services to all departments within their area of responsibility.
Prepare and make recommendations concerning application of policies, educate teammates on update of company policies. Coordinate activity in preparation of salaried budgets and manpower requirements. Make recommendations and effectively communicate with all levels of management inside and outside the plant.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Advise management of federal and state employment regulatory requirements. Responsible for the development, maintenance, logging, collection, reporting, and retention of all Affirmative Action Plans. Maintain applicant flow and strive to meet AAP goals for area of responsibility.
Coordinate the performance management.
Direct the performance assessment program by assisting teammates and departmental management in the proper preparation and completion of the assessments and advise on compensation adjustments when necessary in their areas of responsibility. Provide education for assessors.
Responsible for a timely and accurate reporting of all plant personnel.
Ensure that all manpower reports are coordinated through this position and are accurate before issued.
Maintain a good public relations status and community involvement.
Coordinate with various organizations, local plants, public education system and the business community regarding personnel functions.
Maintain staffing levels in temporary, hourly and salaried position.
Monitor, approve and administer the temporary staffing requirements in their areas of responsibility.
Administer the hourly and salaried manpower process.
Maintain adequate hourly and salaried manpower by monitoring company requirements and budgets. Coordinate all requisition approval, recruiting, and interviewing, hiring, relocation, orienting, recalling, transferring, terminating or laying off personnel for all positions within the area of responsibility.
Review resignations, evaluate job specifications and monitor all attendance records. Administer the promotional opportunity system and interview salaried teammates and access the promotional opportunity system as needed.
Responsible for analysis and identification of issues/opportunities relating to the Human Resources budget.
Responsible for handling hotline complaints, regulatory charges and unemployment claims teammates in their area of responsibility.
Drive Change initiatives throughout the plant.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field
5+ years experience in Human Resources including policy administration, compensation, and benefits
Qualifications Preferred:
Strong computer and analytical skills preferred
Professional HR certifications preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
